Next Trip: Thailand

With so much to see and do is very difficult to choose the best places to stay.

One thing I knew it was the fact I wanted to stay a few days in Bangkok, the capital, and a few days at a beautiful beach, relax and don’t do anything.

Because I’m travelling in November, it is the beginning of the high season and the end of the rainy season. My struggle to choose a beach destination was resolved when I saw that the rainy season continues to Ko Samui, Ko Tao and the other small islands on that part of Thailand. So the options for me were Phuket, Krabi or combined them with Phi Phi Islands.

I wanted to stay in a beautiful Hotel and although the beaches in PhiPhi were amazing the Hotels in general weren’t. By the research I made I found Krabi less touristic than Krabi.

When I found the Hotel Rayavadee in Railay I knew it was the one. And what is there not to love?! Amazing 5 star Hotel surrounded by 3 gorgeous beaches with limestones cliffs all around and the only access is by boat. The transfers from/to airport are included first by van and after by a private boat.

A secluded hotel but still walking distance to a small town with restaurants and bars it is home for many monkey families with a huge botanic garden.

But of course what is good in quality it doesn’t come cheap. So be prepared to pay an average of 540€ per night,in high season with, breakfast.

In Bangkok because there were so many hotels and the price was very cheap it is a bit difficult to choose.

My first step was to see what do the Tour Operators offered. The hotels seemed very good but far away from the city centre. I wanted a Hotel in a walking distance to the major temples and not be dependent of taxis/tuk tuks. I went to google maps, focused in the city centre and search for hotels. The choice was significant reduced. Coincidently I chose Casa Nithra as well as a colleague of mine also did and loved.

I paid around 58€ per night including breakfast. I also hired private transfers with the hotel from and to the airport which were around 34€ one way.

So i’m going to stay 3 nights at Bangkok and 4 nights at Railay.
