Krabi: Arriving to Paradise

My hotel was located in Railay therefor only reachable by boat. Fortunately my hotel picked me up from the airport they drove me until Krabi’s pier and they we took a private speed boat to the Hotel. From the airport took me around 45 min until the Hotel.

The Hotel

I stayed at Rayavadee which is the best Hotel in Railay and if you want a memorable vacations I strongly recommend you to stay here.

I had a private pavilion surrounded by palm trees, monkeys, monitor pool lizards and squirrels. It’s a big resort one of the Leading Hotels of the World. From the hotel we could access to Railay beach, right after the huge infinity pool, the Phra nang Beach and the Railay East.

With a memorable breakfast, not only with buffet options but also a full menu which includes a variety of asian and mediterranean dishes.

My favourite options were the waffles and the french toasts served by a fantastic staff  always carrying a smile!

The beach

The Railay Beach it’s the most beautiful beach I’ve ever seen. The water temperature is around 30ºC day and you’re surrounded by limestone cliffs!

On the afternoon walk until Phra Nang Beach for a swim and stay for the sunset and watch the sky change to a red-yellow tone.

If you look closely you’ll find some 4 legged friends wondering around the beach, also known as monitor pool lizards.

You can also rent a kayak, or if you stay at Rayavadee they offered that service, and explore the surrounding caves and islands.

Hotel Location

If you want some suggestions where to stay I definitely recommend the Railay West. Some Hotels have access only to Railay East where the pier is located, and I founded a bit smelly and it’s not recommended for Swimming.

The only Hotel with direct access to Pra Nang Beach is the Rayavadee but you can reached by walk in a walking street nearby.

I was so glad that I stayed at Railay. It was so more chilled and beautiful than Ao Nang. People at restaurants in Ao Nang they are always trying to convincing you to go to their restaurant, in opposite to Railay. In Ao Nang although the beach is long it’s very narrow and doesn’t look like a “paradise postcard”.

I also noticed that the weather in Railay was better, it rains a lot in Ao Nang in comparison to Railay.

I took a long tail boat to Ao Nang which has more options for shopping and you can buy some great souvenirs there.

The restaurants

At the south of Thailand the food is slightly more expensive but I usually paid less than 10€ per person.

In Railay beach you have a street with a lot of options with small thai restaurants. I ate most of the times at Railay Family Restaurant. Sometimes the service was a little slow but the food is well worth it.

I also ate a great pizza at Jen’s Restaurant. I went there twice but the service could be a lot better.
